i've lost yet another piece of my childhood...

Today I read  Andy Williams died. When I was a child, we would watch the Andy Williams Christmas special EVERY YEAR. It was a huge deal for us.

Hell, I wanted to BE Claudine Longet. After all, she spoke with a French accent! It doesn't get much more mysterious and sexy than that.

Oui oui! Rest in peace, Andy.

Shamefully on MY-part, I never followed the mans' career, as the music-styles were polar-opposites of us "studs" of the time. But still, I was admittedly aware of his prowess as a singer, and his name was easily-recognized as such.(Ironically, my wife remembers that same-Christmas special YOU speak of!)There again, ME? Not so.

He will be missed, in the same-vein as any and all-other of our TRUE-performers of earlier-days...

When the radio stations start playing 'all christmas music all day' you can't help but hear his songs several times a day. he released soooo many of them. i don't know much about his music outside of the christmas genre though. not my cup o'tea
