have you seen that girl in the corner...

Bob Welch, formerly of Fleetwood Mac, was found dead of an apparent suicide on Thursday in Nashville.

Sigh.

Groups' name rang a bell---but not the person?

BTW---do you remember Donald "Duck" Dunn? He died a week or so ago, while in Tokyo. Professional self-taught Bassist, mostly bluesy.

Guess we all hafta "go to roost", sooner or later, eh?

No, I don't know Dunn. I did read about him though, but I'm not familiar with his music at all.

You may not be familiar with the NAME, but I'll bet you're familiar with his talent---you just didn't realize it.

Background bass for The Original Blues Brothers, at times with Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Muddy Waters---and lots of other "household-names". Always smoked his "signature"-pipe while on-stage.

He had a bass-score that was all but impossible to mimic---since he was self-taught, no one else had the "key". It was that "abnormal"-bass sound in each performance that kept people coming back for more.

Here, this may jog the memory-circuits for ya'.
