Yahoo, seriously

I don't know WHAT Yahoo has changed about their email program lately but it has been freezing and slowing down my computer for almost a week now. It's getting to the point where I don't even want to open it.

Every other application works just fine except for this program.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....

Sounds like it might be a good time to run your anti-virus "clean-up" program, just to be safe.

Whole lotta nasty-little bugs been croppin'-up in the last few weeks...

Yeah, I've tried that. And it's only that damn Yahoo mail program that's been giving me trouble.

If it's one site that causes it, and you don't have any unusual problems with the laptop while working offline, then it's probably not viral. It's probably a browser incompatibility issue. What are you using, IE or FF? There are lots of free browsers out there. Opera is a great one. I use that all the time. And it's the only browser that displays pure html the way the coding standards wants all pages to be displayed at. Otherwise, contact yahoo about this issue to see if they are even aware. And also look into your Windows updates to see if you're running all of the latest patches to XP.

Ok, I got on today and everything was working fine....till I loaded Yahoo. Don't even axe me why! Froze so badly I had to shut down the laptop manually. Then I started getting this "disk needs to be checked for consistency" error msg. I tried to let it do that but it kept stalling on the second check. I bypassed it, got online and googled and found that others were having problems this week with Yahoo Mail and Firefox, so I dl'ed the newest edition, which seemed to come out as a 'fix' to this problem. Now I'm afraid to shut down for the night and I may stay online forever....lol. thanks for all the help!
