guess who's coming to dinner?

My offspring had the right idea. Remember when they stole the home security signs from the neighbor's yard and put them in our yard? On the myth busting show, they talked about whether or not people with home security systems were really safer. What an eye opener.

A couple set their home security system and left. Within seconds, the "professional thieves" (from the show) broke into the basement window, made their way upstairs to the first floor and by stepping onto furniture and up over the banister were able to easily make their way up to the couple's bedroom.

Another myth is that the family dog is the best protection. The "professional thief" said that more often than not the dog follows them around with tail wagging. Sigh.

BUT they said having the signs in the yard WAS a deterrent! Thieves were more likely to go to the neighbor's house that didn't have a sign. In my 'hood, that would be the guy the offspring stole the signs from.....

That's the truth! I have an alarm system and have set it off twice. Only to find out that it wasn't connected to the alarm center. Damn!

There is a show called "It Takes a Thief", basically does the same thing every show as what you described on MB'ers. Its a really cool show...guy was in prison for burglary and shit and now he has his own TV show about it!

I don't have an alarm, SB. I find poverty is a pretty good deterrent.

What channel, Dustin?
